Schützen von Dokumentenlinks vor unbefugtem Zugriff

Choose whether recipients need to log in before accessing the document—or whether they can access and sign the document directly from the link

When sending documents for signature with SELISE Signature, you have the option to choose whether recipients need to log in before accessing the document—or whether they can access and sign the document directly from the link in their email. This choice significantly impacts the security and accessibility of your signature process. In this guide, we’ll explain how document link protection works, how to enable or disable it, and the pros and cons of both approaches to help you make an informed decision.

By default, SELISE Signature disables one-click login to documents sent via email. This means:

  • Recipients must log in with their SELISE account to view and sign the document.
  • Even if the email is forwarded, unauthorized people cannot access the document.

However, administrators can choose to enable one-click login - allowing users to view and sign the document directly from the link without logging in.

How to Manage This Setting

Only administrators can change this setting. To adjust link protection:

  1. Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Signature Settings.
  3. Find the option: Invitation link.
  4. Use the slider to enable or disable this feature.

Security Tip:

When activating this function, remember that the link is accessible to anyone who has received the invitation email. This means that if the correct recipient forwards the invitation email to another person, this person will be able to access the document without a password.

However, we have built in a safeguard so that when the link is used, only the approval or signing of the specific document is possible and the user is then automatically logged out of the system again, meaning that no other actions can be carried out.

Furthermore, unauthorized signing would only be possible for simple signatures, as advanced and qualified signatures are additionally secured by a second factor.

We recommend to keep this setting disabled (protected) when:

  • Documents contain personal, financial, or legal information
  • You want to prevent tampering or unauthorized viewing
  • You’re dealing with external parties or compliance-sensitive industries

Example:

You’re sending employment contracts or NDAs - security and accountability are essential

If the document link is protected (default setting: One click login deactivated):

  • The recipient will be redirected to the SELISE login screen
  • If the forwarded email lands with someone else, they won’t gain access
  • Access is bound to the authenticated email address and personal password
