How to Check the Status and History of Your Documents

Keeping track of your digital documents is essential for staying organized and ensuring everything is signed on time. SELISE Signature provides a complete audit trail and status overview for every document you send or receive. This guide shows you how to check the status and view the detailed history of any document, including how to download the signed version and its evidence report.
Step 1: Go to Your Documents Dashboard
After logging into SELISE Signature, navigate to the Documents tab in the left-hand sidebar. You’ll see the following sections:
- My Documents – Documents you’ve created and sent.
- Received Documents – Documents sent to you.
- Organizational Documents – Shared documents (admin-permission-based).
- Drafts – Work-in-progress documents not yet sent.
- Archived – Manually archived items.
Use the top filters to view by status:
Yet to Sign
Yet to Review
Pending
Completed

Step 2: Open the Document You Want to Review
In the document list, locate the file you want to check. Each document shows its:
- Title
- Initiator (of received documents) or recipients (of sent documents)
- Signature Type (e.g., Simple, Advanced)
- Creation date and time
- Completion date and time (only completed documents)
- Processing Status

Click the View button to open a chosen document or click the small arrow to see more options.
Step 3: View Status, Signature Activity, and Download Options
Inside the document view, you can:
- See current Status (e.g. Completed, Pending, Declined)
- For already completed documents, click Download Signed Document to download the final signed PDF or choose Download Original Document or Download Evidence Report.
- Click View Audit Trail to see signing details, such as:
- Names, email addresses and (partly masked) phone numbers of all parties
- Roles (Signatory or Viewer)
- Signature type (Simple, Advanced, etc.)
- Time of Signing or Approval
- Country and region (of IP addresses)
- IP addresses and geolocation


Step 4: Understanding the Evidence Report
When you click Download Signed Document, you will receive a ZIP folder that contains:
- SignedDocument.pdf – The final signed version of the contract
- SignatureAuditLog.pdf – The detailed audit log, listing all signers and viewers
The audit log includes for each participant:
- Role (Signatory, Reviewer, Viewer)
- Name, phone number and email
- Contract Initiator
- Legal weight
- Login date and time (UTC)
- Signing date and time (UTC)
- IP Address and Country

Step 5: Troubleshooting and Tips
- If a recipient hasn’t received their invitation, check the Pending tab, open the document and click Resend Invitation.
- You can also use Copy Contract Link to manually share the document.
- If a document has been Declined, open it and review the signer’s comments in the sidebar.
- For expired links (per default valid 7 days), simply resend the invitation.
